Merry

I've had such a nice Christmas.

Just this nice.
This morning Precocious Daughter and I exchanged gifts (I got a crockpot and I'm totally going to make potato soup, oh yeah). Then we went to my sister's and hung out with PDaughter's cousins...and my Almost-Ex, whom I invited. He spent most of the afternoon making passive-aggressive comments about our relationship, but I was having such a good time I didn't care. PDaughter is spending tonight at his place, and Drummer Boy will soon be here to spend Christmas night with me. I'm a little drunk and very happy.

One of my nephews recently moved out of his (asshole, deadbeat) dad's house and is staying with a friend, and I very happily drove him home. My beautiful niece (who is trying to work things out with her boyfriend, because young love is hard) had to go to her job at a doggy day care (somebody has to look after the doggies, even on Christmas), but we still had quality time together. I had a nice phone conversation with my parents. It was a really good day.

I've been commenting on friends' blogs because my blogger friends are incredible and I love them every bit as much as the friends I actually physically see sometimes. Support your favorite bloggers, you guys; I promise every comment means the world to them. And to me.

Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, I wish you all the joys and blessings of the season, because they don't require you to believe in the Christian God; they only require that you have love in your heart. Anyone who tells you different deserves coal in their stocking, and possibly a punch in the head.

No matter what you did today, I hope it was a good day. Merry Christmas, or the local equivalent. Love you all.

  4. If you have to work on Christmas, working at the doggy day care is pretty nice! We had a nice mellow day.

You're thinking it, you may as well type it. The only comments you'll regret are the ones you don't leave. Also, replies to threads make puppies grow big and strong.
