Necessity Is the Mother of Blogging

Ack! I haven't posted in three days! I'm a terrible blogger.

I have no rebuttal.
So here's a totally random assemblage of stuff I've been doing, because yeah, I'm fascinating. And to get a post up. My Drunkards understand. Right?

Right.

First and foremost, if you haven't heard, my beloved Bug has been declared a total loss by my insurance company.

Children of the Internet:
This means "I'm sad."
I'm getting what I consider a pretty fair amount of money for my sweet demolished Beetle - certainly a healthy down payment on a replacement vehicle. But it's still very sad for me. And there's a really interesting story to tell about the wreck and subsequent investigation, which I'll tell after the check is safely in my hands.

Next, I bought new bras today.

BOOBS!
If you're a guy reader, you won't get this at all. But if you're a lady, let me say this: There is nothing like the feeling of a new bra that hasn't been shrunk or stretched or twisted out of shape and is soft and accommodating to your girls.

Am I right?

The ladies are nodding their heads, and the gentlemen are picturing breasts. I'm OK with that.

Next...Precocious Daughter recently was selling candles for a school fundraiser, so we all bought some. I looooooove candles, but I'm highly suspicious of cheap, low-quality specimens that don't actually smell good or effectively fill the air with scent when lit. Still, one way or another I was going to end up writing a check for this thing, so I ordered several.

They came in yesterday. And they are wonderful.

Yes, I love candles.
I'm a hippie that way.
Right now I'm burning a lavender candle. It's purple! But also it smells amazing. The peach berry and French vanilla are also amazing. And there still others I haven't tried. Mmmmmmmmmmmm, candles.

Finally, tonight I introduced PDaughter to my favorite movie of all time ever: Psycho.

Totally not a creepy choice for favorite movie.
I have loved this film since I first saw it in sixth grade or so. When PDaughter told me she wanted to see it, I was delighted. So we watched it together and...she loved it.  Maybe not as much as I love it, but goddamn I love this movie. I've seen it I don't know how many times, and I still see new things in it every time I watch it. I'm so glad I was able to introduce her to my favorite movie.

So that's what's new. I'll put together something a bit more clever and entertaining tomorrow. I hope. In the meantime, have a wonderful evening/morning/day, and thanks as always for stopping by.

  1. Man, new bras are THE BEST! They actually fit right when you first get them. Not so much 6 months later O.o

Still sorry to hear about the bug. That sucks. And "Psycho"? Great movie! We finally got our girl to sit and watch the original black and white "Night of the Living Dead", but without the awesomeness of her liking it. She was bored with it. Ugh. Stupid teenagers.

  2. Yes..new bras are the shit!

    Sorry about your bug. :(

I got my kids to watch Psycho a number of years ago and they laughed at it. Go figure.

  3. As one of your guy readers I have a confession to make: when reading about your new bra I wasn't thinking about breasts. I was thinking of "Hedwig & The Angry Inch" and Hedwig screaming, "You don't put a bra in a dryer! IT WARPS!"

Well, at least I can take comfort in knowing that I too consider "Psycho" one of the most awesome movies of all time that just keeps getting better every time I watch it means I'm perfectly completely normal.

You're thinking it, you may as well type it. The only comments you'll regret are the ones you don't leave. Also, replies to threads make puppies grow big and strong.
