First, I think Chick-fil-A makes a damn tasty chicken sandwich.
And the waffle fries. Oh, the waffle fries! |
Wait, is reading gay? I'm so confused. |
Third, if you want to make an informed inference about how Cathy's words manifest themselves in his actions, you can read this article - published more than a year before the current brouhaha - outlining Chick-fil-A's donations to various organizations and causes as well as the company's pro-family policies. If you believe that link may contain bias, you can read this account on Snopes.com, or this one from conservative website CNSNews.com (tagline: The Right News. Right Now. See what they did there?) I especially like the last article because it showcases both the left and the right spouting nonsense about this issue, which I feel is often beneficial in pushing people toward a non-idiotic centrist view.
If you want my opinion on the whole "Chick-fil-A is Anti-g-A" deal, it's this. I'm not buying more Oreos because of the Facebook pride cookie, and I'm probably not going to eet les chikin because of Cathy's conservative values. Frankly, I don't eat Oreos or Chick-fil-A very often, although I find them both delicious. They both consist of more calories than I wish to take in for more money than I wish to pay out. And when I do treat myself, I'm not doing it for ideological reasons either way. Usually I'm just pre-menstrual and craving a goodie.
The munchies are a bipartisan issue. |
