Actually in the Ring

First in a series.

What do you think about this as his-and-hers wedding rings, Drunkards?

Full disclosure: This is not something I've discussed with my putative fiance, Drummer Boy.

I just think these would be amazing wedding rings for our probably-eventual wedding, you know?

DB's dad is needing surgery, so I doubt he's even paying attention to my silly fucking blog tonight.

But I hope he knows that he and his family are foremost in my mind right now.

Love to all of you.

Wedding rings later, if ever.

Drunkards, your most healing thoughts to Drummer Boy's family are most appreciated just now. Post them in the comments, OK?

Thank you. <3

  1. I don't comment all the time but this blog, if for the sake of nothing else in the universe, has prompted me to try to comment positively EVERYWHERE I can so my thoughts and energies go out there to him and his family.

And yes, people react to positivity without expectations of something in return as if you've grown an extra appendage or something. The electronic Tower of Babel of one strange place.

  2. I don’t know DB from Shinola, although Shinola is more of a bass player, but I’ve been thinking about him and his family all day. I wish all of them, and you, well.
And I like the first rings best. Mother-of-pearl seems fitting. You will cover the grit of the past with beauty.

  3. Our rings match, in that they are both yellow gold from the same store. I think you should each get what you love best - which may or may not be the same. I do like the ones you posted, though. Hope the Pater Familias is mending nicely.

  4. I don’t know how, but I saw these rings posted on someone else’s FB page. I’ll leave you the same comment I left for them:
I adore opals, and inset gems—and especially inset opals! But opals are very fragile and tend to crack. They are not recommended for rings that get everyday use, like a wedding band. I’ve had two opals that cracked. . Pretty, but fragile.

You're thinking it, you may as well type it. The only comments you'll regret are the ones you don't leave. Also, replies to threads make puppies grow big and strong.
