Ms. Lena Horne, Y'All

Tomorrow (where I am), June 30, marks the 99th birthday of singer/actor Lena Horne.

I adore Lena Horne. She was beautiful, supremely talented, outspoken.

Here she is singing perhaps her signature song.

    Lena Horne is one of those performers I feel I knew from birth. Her voice was so pure and she was just such an amazing person it's as though she's written into our very DNA. Or our collective unconscious, if you believe in that sort of thing.
    Either way she will always be with us.
