Lightning round, Drunkards.
Answer me this.
You're muddling through the dying days of a long-term relationship. One of you is ready to move on. The other is not.
The "other" is getting custody of the Darling Dog.
And makes a veiled threat that, if you leave, he may have no choice but to put Darling Dog to sleep.
Your move.
What do you say/do/feel?
Need opinions rather urgently.
Take the dog with you or get a friend to foster--now. No emotional blackmail, no hurting puppies.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above. But now. Find someone to foster until you are fully moved out and settled, and the other person never learns where you live.

ReplyDeleteEveryone else has nailed it--get DD any way you can.
ReplyDeleteHow do I feel? I know people who've gotten divorced because of threats to harm an animal. And why wouldn't they?
Yeah, that's a blackmail thing - the last desperate attempts to control you. I'd say try to get the dog out of there, but under now circumstances let his threats control you.
ReplyDeleteDamn.
And perhaps also call Animal Control? Why should he get "custody" of the dog? Couldn't have been his prior to your relationship, unless it's Methusalah Dog....
