I May Be Hazardous to Your Health

Last Friday night, Drummer Boy had a fall. He hit his head on a car fender, giving him a big old black eye, and fractured his thumb. He'll be OK, but he gave me quite a scare.

Today, Precocious Daughter tested for her red-black belt in karate. She took a hard hit to the head, giving her a big old black eye and a mild concussion. She'll be OK, but she gave me quite a scare.

What I'm saying his: BE CAREFUL, DRUNKARDS.

You may think it's Summer, but it's Fall.
People I love are getting the crap beaten out of them. And since I love all of you, you need to look out.

Danger, Will Robinson.
The crap could be beaten out of you at any moment. I'm just saying. If you value your crap, hold on to it right now.

On the other hand, if it results in a great story, please share.

Because a good story is nearly always worth a black eye.

  1. So taking up rugby at my advanced age is probably not a good idea?

  2. I'm sorry PD's and Drummer Boy's injuries didn't make better stories. Oh, yeah, it's terrible that they were hurt, but not getting a good story out of it adds insult to injury. That's why it would be better if accidents could be planned. Well, that's not the only reason, but the important thing is you wouldn't want to over-prepare. There's nothing worse than a pratfall that comes off looking staged. Well, I guess there are worse things.

  3. Wow, that's a lot! If it's of any comfort, I was accident prone as a child and was never seriously hurt. It scared people, but I always knew I was made of rubber.

You're thinking it, you may as well type it. The only comments you'll regret are the ones you don't leave. Also, replies to threads make puppies grow big and strong.
