I Can't Even. Seriously.

I have to admit, I've had one thing on my mind today.

No, not Christmas cookies.
My friend Smee shared a post from the Daily Mail website that recalled a 1971 Life magazine article about rock stars and their parents. Got all that? Who cares, not important.

The point is, the photos in the old Life article are incredible. Here's the link, check them out. Fabulous in so may ways.

One of the pictures took my breath away. I'm not kidding, I've been clicking back to this photo all damn day. I think I'm obsessed.

This is Eric Clapton and his grandma in 1971.

Please believe me when I say that I have never seen a hotter human being in my life than this picture of Eric Clapton.

(Sorry, Drummer Boy, you are beautiful to me, but...but...still.)

I happen to know that in 1971, Eric was in a bad way. He was strung out on heroin, desperately in love with his best friend's wife, and just generally fucked up.

Yet he took his picture for Life magazine.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is a beautiful human being. The fact that he could play guitar like a demon from another world is just icing on the goddamn cake.

Holy crap, what a sexy man.

Smee, you've destroyed me.

Thanks, lady.

  1. Lol sorry! I was digging Frank Zappa and his parents' killer living room. I have to agree on Clapton, though. He was gorgeous!

  2. The vest he's wearing resembles the background of your blog. Coincidence? Maybe you have more in common with Clapton than you realize.

  3. Love these photos! The one of Joe Cocker and his mom was so sweet (sniff!). And Elton's mom's boots are pretty kicky.... And yes, Clapton is something else. Still.

You're thinking it, you may as well type it. The only comments you'll regret are the ones you don't leave. Also, replies to threads make puppies grow big and strong.
